"Proving" a Translation

Here is how I "Prove" a translation of a paragraph, that has been translated into a Foreign Language using translators. This is not perfect, but is far better than 'gisted' translations.

  • Copy and Paste a phrase in quotes into the search engine.
  • See how many hits you get that are FROM the country of your target language.
  • These hits MUST have URL's that END in the country code.
  • Click on the given links and see if the intended meaning of your phrase fits the site.
  • If you find your translation is in error, then, go back and forth using the translator on the sites that are within your target meaning of phrase, until you find the correct wording.
  • Continue in this manner until you've proven the entire paragraph.

Translators

Translators are notorious for being not quite accurate. I don't recommend them for anything beyond "gisted" translation. Jim Breen's Japanese - English translator is #1 for accuracy, and is highly recommended. However, it does not translate 'texts', but only word to word.
